“The Great American Storyteller” is a pretty sample-heavy album, but it definitely isn’t strictly hip hop sounding. Most of the tracks are focused around the hooks, which generally have a half-dozen or more vocal layers. Still, I think the content of a lot of the songs is pretty interesting. If I could go back and change anything, I’d probably cut out a few tracks and at least one of the interludes, but what are you gonna do? This album was recorded in Chicago, Illinois. My favorite tracks are “Only I Can Fly,” “It's Already Over” and “They Said (feat. Concept).”
